Freddie Gibbs Calls Young Jeezy “A Fraud”
Freddie Gibbs and Young Jeezy have always had a great relationship – up until recently. After splitting from Jeezy’s CTE label last year, Gibbs is letting it all air out, the beef, the drama, and the broken promises.
“I believed in what CTE was and what Jeezy was doin’. I messed with it, that was the music I was vibin’ to and I wanted to add to it,” Gibbs told MTV News yesterday during an interview.
When he split last December, Gibbs said, “I started seein’ the fake and the empty promises and all of that stuff and I just didn’t wanna be around that no more.”
“It’s tough meetin’ your heroes sometimes and kickin’ with them because when they take that cape off, boy o’ boy under that cape, sometimes it’s some scary lil’ boy hidin’ under that cape,” he continued.
Since voicing his feelings about Jeezy in an interview with XXL Magazine, Gibbs has received lots of disgruntled fans’ responses, including death threats. To that, Gibbs simply says “Yeah, death threats. Hey man, I know it hurts you to hear your favorite rapper’s a fraud. It ain’t my fault. I’ma make it that every time he go sit down, he gotta talk about me. He gonna have to say somethin’. You ain’t got no choice.”
Gibbs plans to drop ESGN independently from Jeezy on July 9th.
