Epic Records Signs Vinny Cha$e
Harlem MC Vinny Cha$e revealed yesterday (March 12th) that he has signed a $2.5 million deal with Epic Records. This negotiation will allow Vin to keep a joint-venture deal, including his Cheer$ Club label, allowing him to retain the rights to all of his publishing.
Cha$e first caught the public’s attention with his Golden Army mixtape from last November. The single Biggie & Jordans made headlines, along with pictures of Cha$e with Diddy, giving the impression that he might be signing to Bad Boy. However, the rumor was cleared when he posted a picture on Instagram with a bottle of champagne from LA Reid, Epic Records chairman. The caption read, “Thanx @rockstarreid and Quad studios #CHXXR$EpicSony.”
Cha$e has nothing but good things to say about Diddy though. “To me, he’s an idol, not only because of the stuff he did with Big. He started in the game young, just like us,” he said. “A lot of people told him he couldn’t do this and he couldn’t do that.”
Vinny will always represent Harlem. “To come from Harlem and be on the Forbes list, that ain’t nothing to be sneezed at. I hope to follow in those type of footsteps with my squad.”
