Elton John and Mumford & Sons to Play Levon Helm Tribute at Grammys

Elton John and Mumford & Sons will perform a tribute to Levon Helm at the Grammys Sunday. Helm was the singer and drummer for The Band and died April 19 of throat cancer at age 71.

“Music From Big Pink” and “The Band” both remain albums that will forever be a staple in Rock music. Their biggest songs, “The Weight” and “Cripple Creek” have become classics known by young and old alike.

A live performance of “The Weight,” is planned, with other artists like the Zac Brown Band, T Bone Burnett and Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes. Mumford & Sons have been nominated for four awards at this year’s Grammys, including Album of the Year for their most recent effort, Babel.

Justin Timberlake, Jack White and the Black Keys are also scheduled to perform at the awards ceremony.
