Saturday Night Live Books the Alabama Shakes
The Alabama Shakes are set to perform on Saturday Night Live Feb. 16 with host and star of Django Unchained, Christoph Waltz. The show will air eight days before the Academy Awards.
Waltz recently won a Golden Globe for his role as a ruthless bounty hunter in Quentin Tarantino’s latest smash hit, and he is also nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars.
The Alabama Shakes are familiar with awards as well, as they are nominated for Best New Artist at this year’s Grammys.
“I’m just happy [that] my Nanna’s happy,” said singer Brittany Howard after the band’s nomination (via Rolling Stone).
