Winner of The Voice Season 3: Cassadee Pope

Winner of The Voice Season 3

On Tuesday night, December 18th, over 14 million viewers tuned into the finale of the 3rd season of The Voice as Cassadee Pope was named the winner. During the show, Pope was under the tutelage of influential country singer, Blake Shelton. In the finale, Pope performed with Kelly Clarkson and Avril Lavigne, two artists Pope strongly admires. Pope is the former lead singer of Columbia Records’ act, Hey Monday, which had a pop-rock feel.

She kicked off her “post-Voice” career with a performance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and is scheduled to appear on today’s episode of the Today show.

“If you were to take Taylor Swift, make it edgier with a just a little hint of country and make the lyrics a little more mature, that would be the direction I’d like to take,” Pope told Billboard.
