Pitchfork Day 2: Soundplay
When gaming and music meet, beautiful happens.
Who would have thought that putting an arcade in the middle of a music festival would be a good idea? And of those people, who would have thought that that arcade could make people think, give people experiences that couldn’t have been found anywhere else?
Obviously somebody did, and that’s where we got Pitchfork Festival‘s Soundplay Arcade. The arcade features games created by independent programmers and developers, all inspired by, informed by, or built around various pieces of music. At the link below, you’ll find access to the games via Pitchfork’s Soundplay site. Personally, I’ll recommend We Were You. That game moved me, and made me think in a deep, affecting way. Don’t make fun. Play it for yourself. And while you’re at it, play the other games there- featuring music by Cut Copy and M83, among others.
