Foster The People’s “Torches” made an impact in 2011.

The CollegeDJ.net Equalizer Awards 2011 pick for Best Alternative Music Album is “Torches” by Foster The People.  In 2011, Foster The People made a tremendous push that kept them written about by popular blogs and buzzing in social media. “Torches” from Foster The People included hot songs that transcended regular alternative lines to become – popularly known.

Yes you’ve probably heard “Don’t Stop (Color On the Walls)” and didn’t know early on who it was – yup, that’s Foster The People. Watch the video here for “Don’t Stop” that features “Gabourey Sidibe”.  The song “Pumped Up Kicks” was also another hot release in 2011 and Foster The People had a stellar performance on SNL that featured jazz great Kenny G.
