The Flaming Lips will collaborate with Bon Iver, others on upcoming album
A release on Record Store Day this year will see the band joining forces with some unlikely partners.
Winter’s here, and that means that my favorite holiday is just around the corner. Record Store Day falls on the 21st of April this year, in just a few months, and it looks like The Flaming Lips are going to have something special to surprise us with that Saturday.
Their Record Store Day release will feature collaborations with Justin Vernon (of Bon Iver), Yoko Ono(!) Nick Cave, and Neon Indian, just to name a few. By the time April rolls around, the band hopes to collaborate with Lykke Li, Erykah Badu, and Ke$ha as well.
I’ll let you read that list again. Go ahead and scroll up a bit. Yes, the last name up there is Ke$ha.
