They Might Be Giants announces US tour with a music video for “When Will You Die?” (VIDEO)
The quirky outfit will tour across the states with nerd-rock darling Jonathan Coulton this winter and spring.
They Might Be Giants has released today a video for “When Will You Die?” off of their most recent album, “Join Us”. It’s a happy, poppy tune with cheerful horn hits. In general, it’s pretty upbeat for a song that talks about the entire band jumping up and down on somebody’s grave.
The video features a bunch of people (roadies? Band members that aren’t the two Johns?) constructing a gigantic, pink monster-truck hearse, as featured on the cover of the album, out of cardboard. They then proceed to completely destroy it with a gigantic claw. It’s pretty satisfying to watch, all told.
The video has been released to draw attention to the band’s upcoming US tour with Jonathan Coulton, beginning on January 27th. For all the dates, and to get tickets, click here.
