Diddy Tops Forbes’ List of Richest Rappers: Jay-Z Follows Close Second.
Diddy Tops the list released March 2011 -but Jay-Z Is Not Far.
The prestigious Forbes’ list of top rappers according to earnings is out. Forbes’ list of the richest rappers has been released (March 2011). The top earners include Diddy at number 1 at $475 million followed closely by Jay-Z at $450 million.
Diddy’s interests including revenue from Ciroc and Bad Boy helped him take the coveted position of raps richest. Sean “Puffy” Combs a.k.a. Diddy has new music out as a trio called Diddy Dirty Money and is also enjoying the sales of the project album “Last Train To Paris” (watch the “I Hate The Way You Love Me” video here).
Jay-Z is so close behind, in terms of percentage, that a good accountant could have him at the number 1 spot. Rappers are making money inside and outside of rap. The commercial viability of rap music to help sell products and reach consumers is continuing but who will be the next rapper to make it into the top 5?
