Will the top-selling artist  of 2010 perform at the Grammy Award Show? Will the rapper win?

MTV recently aired a new commercial for the 2011 Grammy Awards featuring Eminem. Does this mean he will grace the stage for a performance next month? The popular rapper ended the year of 2010 with two smash singles, the best selling album of any genre, and a whopping 10 Grammy Nominations. The hit, “Love The Way You Lie”, featuring Rihanna, is up for both Song and Record of the Year, as well as Best Rap Song. In addition, “Not Afraid” was nominated for Best Rap Solo Performance of the Year while “Airplanes Partt. II,” featuring B.o.B. and Hayley Williams, was nominated for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals. Not to mention, Eminem’s LP, Recovery, is up for Album of the Year.

The commercial highlights the transformative power of music… but does it also shed some light on who will perform at this year’s show?

According to the chief marketing officer for the Recording Academy, Evan Greene, “The artists are still being chosen.” He goes on to say, “I can neither confirm nor deny.”

I guess we will have to wait until February 13 when the Grammy Awards airs on CBS. Who do you think should perform? Let me know on Twitter @DSsentialDScott. We must discuss this tonight on the Live Show.
